So this is what i'm actually "supposed" to be working on nehehee X))
A retelling/reinterpretation of the russian fairytale Snegurotscka, the Snow Maiden or Schneeflöckchen in german. I wasn't really sure for the longest time in which direction i wanted it
to take, style and storytelling-wise.
There are many different versions of Snegurotschkas story; sometimes she is the daughter of Jack Frost and the Spring fairy, sometimes she is just a little snow child that came alive (sorta like Pinocchio). In all of the versions, she dies/melts at the end, because the sungod takes her or she gets to close to a fire or something along the lines of that.
Since there are some many different variations, i'm thinking of writing my own text for it at the moment. We'll see..
Concepts, sketchdump whatevs...x)) i still like the Icecastle a whole lot.
so we figured we needed more challenges because apparently our drawing challenge has become so popular that people were getting impatient with only one! who would have thought....=)
so Jelena is now our new appointed weekly challenge admiral :)
We had some pretty cool topics already, but i couldn't really do anything because my hand is still hurting a lot of the time and i still have this other project to finish.
But ok, here ya go, i finally did a little thing, because tentacles. yeah.
Finally a supernerdy challenge again =D Had so many ideas for this one; i love low-key vigilante type superheroes like the the Crimson Bolt and Boltie from Super (or like Jelenas awesome character) , but then again i also love grandiose spacy-wacy stuff like Ms Marvel or Starfire. So in the end i went with that idea, because it's just the most fun to draw :)
So here she is dunDunDUUUNN Silversparkle!!!! I swear half the fun in designing a superhero is coming up with those stupid names. XDDD Her power is manipulating dark matter because yeah space n stuff. And to add to the superscience-ridiculousness i coloured the dark matter purple and black X))
(But seriously...did you know that our universe is made up of approximately 80 percent dark matter? Just the idea that 80 percent of basically everything is invisible is so weird. o__O)
more portrait practice, a few hours in painter. Again while i should be working on other things ahem.. ....but i promise, i will post some sketches and stuff soon from the project i'm working on right now :))
Ada from the Doctor Who ep "The Crimson Horror". It would have been just a nice episode (funny how they made the whole thing look like the 1994 Kenneth Branagh Frankenstein X) ); what made it stand out for me was Ada. Such a cool character! i instantly fell in love with her. Her creepy-pretty Lady Frankenstein outfit and the eyes of course were great, but i especially liked how they wrote her character. Genuinely kind and compassionate, but at the
same time i loved how uncomfortably violent and angry they made her. X)) I was also talking with a friend about the ep and we instantly thought how awesome it would be if she would become a companion at some point.....
Speaking of interesting companions, I was intially pretty disappointed with the newer episodes, a lot of the plots just felt like a rehash from earlier seasons, everything felt kind of empty with no real development. And i'm sorry i was really ready to like her, but Clara is just such a bore. I don't hate her, Jenna Louise Coleman is fine as an actress but her character seemed to have no memorable character traits apart from being the plucky young earth-girl assistant (yeah because we haven't seen that before XDD). And for a long time her character arc seemed to go nowhere, even after having seen the season finale i'm not really sure where the writers are taking it....hm.
On the plus side: Mme Vastra+Jenny! Strax! Bowler hats! All of the River feelings all over again! ＼（Ｔ∇Ｔ）／ Some incredibly beautiful cinematography in a lot of episodes, especially the lighting. A fantastic season finale despite the Clara boredom X))

Btw, just started watching the new Twilight Rifftrax...omg
you wouldn't think it was possible but they somehow managed to put more
mumbled half-sentences, more weird acting devoid of any emotion
whatsoever, more unlikable characters, more bizarre/ yucky plot developments in
one movie. oh and i forgot, the most horrifying abomination of a CGI
baby you will ever see on screen. Be very very afraid...Also gay vampire book club （＞ｙ＜）
Been on a serious Battlestar Galactica high the past few weeks, obscenely good show!!! So many things to like about it, superb writing, characters (KARA U__U), actors...don't even get me started on the soundtrack! so sad now that i finished the last season ;(
did a little speed painting of Kara for Judith; thanks for introducing me to my new favourite thing at the moment! X) and i just noticed that my portrait skills are so rusty warrr need to practice...X___X
No i'm not dead! ;) I haven't been very active because i've been running around with a repetetive strain injury in my drawing hand since comic camp. I was pretty heartbroken about it because i don't really know how to keep my hands still, i'm so used to drawing all the time....
But right now i'm not really in the mood for complaining, i'm so pumped for the Iron Man 3 premiere today! Also superduper excited about the new Thor trailer and all that Marvel Phase 2 stuff coming up, I CANT WAIT *W*
(also an idea for a possible future book project that i've been having for a looong time now finally took shape today, yay me!! :DD)
So anyway, at the moment i can only do digital stuff because working on a tablet is much easier on my wrist.
I still am experimenting and exploring a lot of things in Painter, trying to get comfortable with all those different brushes and settings. so i started doing some Adventure Time style fanart of random favourite characters, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Sailor Mars and Loki's girl avatar because badass fur coat is badass. And boobs. X)))
Voodoo Unicorn evolved into.....MagicSpaceVoodooTricorn-Princess! hm...apparently i've been watching too much MyLittlePony...X)) Still messy, but i#m too lazy to clean it up further. I really, really love using the scratchboard tool in Painter, but i'm not sure how well it lends itself to my more messier approach to drawing sometimes.....:/
Submerged. Draw something that's underwater. So many ideas and sketches! and a lot more fiddling around in Painter, trying to get a feel for the Pencil & Charcoal tools. I even started thumbnailing a comic! :D But since i knew that would take a lot more time and i first wanted to get something done for the challenge, here's the Submerged entry and some more sketchy stuff, because i feel that they kind of belong together now.

Semester's over! After one final nightshift i turned in my last assignments for Digital Illustration Class today. ;)) Although i haven't seen them printed yet, i'm just really really happy how they turned out in the end.
(And i guess now it's safe to say that i'm an official Photoshop to Painter convertee. (¬‿¬) )

So yeah me in BALDUR'S GATE as a ranger! I first thought of doing some retro nintendo stuff because i used to be such a Gameboy kid, but then i remembered what an OUTRAGEOUS amount of time i spent running around in the woods of these game, beating up hobgoblins and gnolls and whatnot. Seriously a LOT of time.......xDD
(and i like how my character looks like "Thats right bitches these woods are MINE!! muharharhar)
Yay new project! A few friends from school and me had the glorious idea to start a drawing challenge thingie (ahem ok so it was mostly my idea *cough* ). The first theme we chose together was "Draw yourself as a Disney princess". YEAH
First round and also first time i did something blog worthy in Painter tadaa. I started taking a Corel Painter class this semester and it was really weird at the beginning because i used to be such a huge Photoshop geek. Painter is really awesome and overwhelming and gimmicky at the beginning and I still feel like i don't know WHAT THE HELL i'm doing in this program but i still like it a lot nevertheless :))
Of course every self respecting princess has to have an animal companion and mineis OF COURSE a fat plushy ferret. Ok well, so i look nothing like that, but i definitely had way too much fun with this. And with the research mwarararar....
Disney, what gives? Why the hell isn't Megara an official Princess? And Esmeralda..and Alice...and come on Giselle? She's like the pure concentrate of all the princessy-ness that has come before her...i am disappoint!
Andnow that you basically own..ahem..everything just consider the possibilities Disney!! Just make Leia an official princess too while you're at it...and Rogue....and Loki...X))Um yea where was i ...??
